DISTRICT
COUNCIL FOR CHILD WELFARE, NARNAUL
The
District Council for Child Welfare, Narnaul is the District branch of Haryana
State Council for Child Welfare, Chandigarh. District Council for Child
Welfare, Narnaul is running various activities in the district.
1. Balwadi & Creche Programme:-
(i) One Balwadi under the
Balwadi-cum-Nutrition Programme in the Urban Area. It aims at providing an
integrated approach for the development of children and caters to the
recreational, educational, nutrition and health needs of Children in the age
group of 3 to 6 years. Besides non formal education, children are provided with
supplementary nutrition @ 1.05per child per day for the 40 children in a
Balwadi.
(ii)
15 Creches within the district under
the grant in aid scheme of Govt. of India to take care infants between the age
of 0 to 5 years of working and ailing mothers. It provide physical care,
nutritive diet, medical checkup and informal education through play and
recreational activities.
2. Library
Programme
Three
children libraries are being run by District Council in Bal Bhawan Narnaul,
Mahendragarh & Amarpura village by its own resources.
3. Bal
Bhawan
The
Bal Bhawan, Narnaul provides a variety of activities such as Drawing, Painting,
Music, Dance, Judo-krate. Archery for children in the age group 5 to 16 years.
A
computer centre is also being run by the District Council in Bal Bhawan on
profit sharing basis. About 40 children have been getting benefit from this
centre.
4. Hair
& Skin Care Centre
District
Council is running a Hair & Skin Care Training Centre at Bal Bhawan Narnaul
for the welfare of Poor Women under the grant in aid scheme with help of
Central Social Welfare Board, New Delhi. 25 women of weaker section have been
getting benefit from this centre.
5. Family
Counselling Centre
District
Council for Child Welfare is running a Family Counselling Cenrtre under the
grant in aid scheme with the help of Central Social Welfare Board, New Delhi.
It has provided services to 45 families. Out of 45 cases 24 has been closed and
remaining are pending cases means which are under consideration. Out of which
24 closed cases 10 are reconciled. 4 cases are moved to the court for legal
action. 2 cases have been provided police Assistance and one case to separated
and two cases are dropped out last year.
6. Drug
Counselling and Assistance Centre
District
Council is running a Drug Counselling & assistance Centre at Narnaul under
the grant-in-aid scheme with the help of social justice and empowernment Deptt.
Govt. of India. 397 of Drug Addicts were registered in the centre during the
year 1998-99. 653 cases were provided individual counselling. 57 as group
counselling and 54 cases were provided family counselling. 134 cases were
detoxified.
Awareness
meeting were organised by the centre at various village, schools &
colleges. To celebrate the international Day against Drug Abuse, the
counselling centre organised a seminar at Govt. High Schiool, Narnaul. Prabhat
pheri was marched in the city, painting competition was organised. An
exhibition was held at I.T.I., Narnaul.
7. Bal
Bhawan Mahendragarh & Ateli
The
foundation stone of Bal Bhawan, Mahendragarh was laid by His Excellency Sh.
Mahavir Prasad, Governor, Haryana on 21.12.98. Construction work of Bal Bhawan
was completed. The construction work of Ateli was also completed. District
Council has planned to start hobby classes and other children activities at
both Ball Bhawan.
8. Children
Day
To
mark the birth anniversary of our late Prime Minister Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru a
week long celebration concluded by a grand mela are organised every year.
Children competitions in painting, Calligraphy,
Essay Writing,Fancy Dress, Solo Dance &
Group Dance, baby health show, quiz contest, Rangoli & Science Exhibition
are also organised on this occasion.
9. National
Bravery Award
The
Indian Council for Child Welfare give due recognition to children who
distinguish themselves by performing outstanding acts of courage, bravery,
gallentary & inspire others to follow their example. One girl child of this
district has received National Award for Bravery in the year 1997.
10. National
Painting Competition
The
State Council for Child Welfare through its Districts Branches organises
painting competition for school going children in order to provide an
apportunity to express their talent, creativity & interest through
painting. The best three painting from each group are sent to ICCW, New Delhi.
In the year 1997 one child name Dharmender Kumar of this District has received
the National Award for painting under this scheme. The awardee is provided
sponsorship to complete the studies by ICCW, New Delhi.
11. Other
Activities
Magic
Show, Film Festival are organise with great enthusiasm, District Council
celebrate National Awareness Week on adoption during the month of November,
every year. Lectures are delivered on topic related to adoption.
